Steaming media could be music, photos and videos uploaded to mostly social sites.  On some site’s like Instagram user can take a picture and upload it instantly allowing friends and family to see. On YouTube you can instantly upload videos for any user to be able to see, mostly artist music videos go viral occasionally minutes after their uploaded. There are other sites such as pandora that allow users to stream music old and new. Some websites and apps are popular than others but they all provide streaming services for users.

Podcasts are recorded audio or video that is made for download. Podcasts can be changed and then uploaded again to as a newer version. Mostly weather channels and some schools use podcasts. Webcasts is like podcast it is also audio and video, but it is live, happening right now as the user watch. Webcasts are currently being used at my school for seminars which allows a live class over the internet.

Wikis are created to allow multiple people access to documents. The documents can be changed and updated anytime. Wikis also allows the users to change versions back and forward if needed. Users can also create a blog about any topic share with the web and allow people to share copy and comment on the blog. It is mostly used on a personal level but there are some company’s that use them as well.

Email is still the worlds most used way of communication because it allows user to utilize it at there own time. Many company’s offer customers to go paperless and would rather email you your bill than send it in the mail. Other users can email photos, documents to email in a secure manner and will always have the data by logging in. User need to take in consideration that once an email is sent it can be forwarded to others consequently beware of what you send. Always user correct grammar and language when sending professional emails.

Social networking allows users to share data with family and friends. Other users use social networking to find a job through people they have previously worked with. There are also company’s who use social networking to reach consumers or gain new customers. When using social networking you want to always keep your personal information off the sites to avoid identify thief and to avoid pirates from getting your information. Also, beware of your privacy settings on social networks and ensure they don’t change.

The internet was created to provide the Department of Defense a system that couldn’t be attacked. It was also created to allow multiple computers to be able to communicate with each other. In 1970 the communication protocol was created and has not been changed. The world wide web was later created to allow users to share content with one another from there computer. The internet is known as a client server network because it uses both clients that ask for information and servers that gives data. There are many security issues with the internet because nothing is never 100 percent safe. User can create secure passwords and use credited sites to ensure some safety when browsing and making purchases on the internet.
